Finding the right Osteopath for you

Finding the right practitioner can be tricky. We currently have five experienced osteopaths working in our team, all of whom have developed special areas of interest over the years.

So, who should you choose to see?

If you are in acute pain, it’s probably best to just book in on the next available appointment as any one of our practitioners are equipped to assess you and give advice on acute injuries and pains.

If, however, you have a longer term problem that has been niggling away its probably worth taking a look at whose approach might best suit your needs.

Stuart has over two decades of experience and in addition to his hands on osteopathic approach, he has a personal training qualification. So, if yours is a sports type injury or you are looking to resolve a pain and get back to your sport, he can offer the advice and support you need to get back to your training routine. Stuart is also very experienced in helping patients with arthritic conditions.

Felix is also a keen sports man and will happily talk tennis with you! However, his approach is more of a whole body traditional osteopathic approach.  He enjoys looking at posture and biomechanics and will often work around all the major body parts, hips/spine/shoulder/neck in one session. His approach is quite gentle and includes cranial osteopathy.

Suzanne and Anna have similar interests and approaches and have particularly taken an interest in chronic/ long term pain patients. So, if you have been suffering for years with episodes of pain and have noticed that your stress levels or mood affects your pain then one of these practitioners may be your best match. Both Suzanne and Anna are SIRPA informed practitioners which means that they can advise on strategies and give you resources to help you understand stress and how that might play a part in your pain picture.

Anna also has an interest and extra training and experience in women’s health issues and pelvic pain.

Lucy is our most recent addition to our practice, she is a great all round Osteopath, interested in  posture, biomechanics, scoliosis, back and neck pain.

She is also equine trained which means she regularly visits stables and treats riders and their horses, so if you want specialist knowledge that includes understanding your riding, she is a great choice.

Take a look at our Meet the team page to see all of the skills interests and training that each of our practitioners have. If you are unsure, just give us a call and we will guide you to find the best person to help you.
